Simulated Process / Black Garments
Printing anything on a black garment has a been one of the hardest things to accomplish as it relates to screen printed apparel. There have been printing processes that have come and gone over the years trying to overcome the nightmare of printing on black. The simulated process used by Missingink was developed over a 10 year span of research and development. The result is a process of separating a piece of art into separate spot color separations that when printed on a black garment will display a bright and vibrant image. Below is an example of the in-house process that we use to create our color separations.

All six images will need to load before the example below will be ready to view.
Please be patient, this make take a minute or two.

Screen printing a T-shirt is done by applying one color at a time until all colors are applied to the garment. To view each color in the design, start by running you mouse over the word "Color 1" below. Then slide down to "Color 2" and so on. As your mouse runs over each color, the picture at the left will display the design with that color added. When your mouse is over "Color 6", you will be viewing the finished screen printed image.

Depending on the artwork to be separated, simulated process separations can range anywhere from 3 to 12 colors. Only 6-colors were needed to achieve the desired effect for this design.
